:)That is the look I was going for with Victorian and Medieval overtones.

Thanks! I stayed up to 5am to finish this lady and sold her minutes after I arrived at the show.

Of all the original queen drawings, this one needed the most work. Every part of her face, etc. had to be moved around. I kept the mouth where it was, though, because it gives her a little half-smile. I plan to frame up one queen for each of my daughters and hope to sell prints of all four in my next show.:)

At 5 in the morning after I finished this picture, I went to bed and tossed and turned over the cruelty she might appear to be inflicting on the bird. I decided to go with a stiff, medieval three-finger 'grasp' for all of the queens, because it matched the style of the cards. The original bird that I drew at age 13 was quite different -- sort of in profile with its head turned. The new redrawn bird is odd-looking, sort of POed, yet resigned.
